Question: What is your favourite element on the periodic table of elements? why?

Carbon is really interesting. It sometimes makes diamond, sometimes graphite (like in pencils), and now you can make carbon into graphene and carbon nanotubes. These pure carbon materials are really exciting because they have some cool properties like really high strength, and quantum effects.
Also, a little bit of carbon can be added to iron to make steel which is much stronger than pure iron. It can be added to other elements too, to make different compounds with really high strengths.
