• Question: why when you grow the cells and embryos do they have to be kept in a clean place and what would happen if they were in a dirty or infectious place?

When you grow cells and embryos out of the body, they can pick up infections which are mainly bacteria really easily so we need to take care we don’t infect them. If they get infections, its just like when we do, they get “sick” and the cells will die. We try and keep them clean by wearing labcoats and gloves and using everything that has been sterilised!
