• Question: when is the earliest you can confirm that dinosaurs existed?

      The oldest dinosaur fossils come from a time called the Triassic period, first appearing about 230 millions years ago. Also in rocks older than the Triassic we find animals that scientists believe are the ancestors of the dinosaurs, and as they must have come before the dinosaurs we know the dinosaurs must not have been around before the Triassic.
