I think that biology is the best 🙂 It’s really varied and there is something for every one! I am sure that all the chemists and physics people will disagree tho!

There are so many good things about each area, but you don’t even have to choose. So much science now goes over the boundaries between those traditional three sciences. People who might call themselves either physicists, chemists or biologists work together, sharing ideas and tools to solve complex problems. Solving the problem of protein folding is something that combines all these scientists (along with mathematicians and computer scientists too).

My short answer, though, is in whatever area excites you most. That is the most important thing.

That really depends on what you find interesting… I’ve always found human bodies and how they go wrong (diseases) fascinating so I’d have to say biology. I love to find out things about how we work, and how we fit in with other living organisms – what our similarities are, what our differences are etc etc.

But some people love to find out about how the universe works, or why gravity works or what makes a car work. So for them Physics and Chemistry would be more interesting!

I guess you have to make up your own mind – but they’re all great!

The more we learn about science, the more we realise how connected together everything is, and you have to use all sorts of different bits of science. For example, I have colleagues that use physics to understand how T. Rex ate its prey, and others who use chemistry to work out what the sea was like millions of years ago. But, having said that, I never like Physics much at school!

Well, I’m a Computer Scientist, so I guess I’m not really qualified to answer! From what I remember though, physics is quite fun because there’s a lot of maths in it and it’s all about how the Universe works. Physics is the sort of subject where you have to understand lots of things very clearly, but there isn’t a huge amount to remember. With chemistry and biology there’s a lot more to remember, but chemistry experiments can be great fun and biology is a very varied and interesting subject.

The most important thing though is to find something that /you/ are really interested in.
