Hi calvinnnnn! Dogs can many different types of worm in their guts. I’ll describe a few for you: They can get a tapeworm, which is long and flat and made of little segments that look like grains of rice. These can reach up to 50cm long!! Dogs can also get Roundworms, sometimes lots of them, and these look a lot like wriggly spaghetti. Another worm they can get is called Echinococcus, and this is the one that I study in my research. It’s really tiny, only 3-4mm long, and doesn’t actually make the dog ill, but if humans or other animals catch it from the dog, it can make us very ill indeed. This is why it is so important to give your dog a worming tablet!
