I’m not a biologist but I guess the advice would be the same whichever area of science you wish to pursue. Firstly work hard at school and study biology with other science subjects. Talk to your career advisor to give you some guidance. Choose a university that offers a course that really interests you as learning should be fun as well as very rewarding. Take any opportunities to work with professional biologists so you get to see what is involved and don’t be afraid to ask for help… finally good luck!
To be any kind of scientist, the main way is to focus hard in class! Do well in class, learn lots. Then speak to your teacher about having work experience working with someone in that science field. That way you’ll get a real insight into the field you’re interested in, and it’ll look good if you ever apply to do it in university!
One option not mentioned below is doing an apprenticeship. Many professions allow you to start working at 16 or 18 and study part-time. This allows you to apply what you are learning to your job and earn some money.
