      I did a bachelors degree where I learnt the basics of engineering in the first two years and then studied civil engineering in the third. I then did a masters degree because I wanted to specialise. So four years studying.

      Because my generation had lower tuition fees, I went along the traditional route. You can do a degree via an apprenticeship in 5 years – earn while you learn.
