Question: have you had any experience in engineering before you studied for it and got the job?

I did lots of taster events whilst at school, you get to try out different types of engineering through solving problems. Through the Royal Academy of Engineering, I worked on a year long project with IBM when I was 17. I didn’t get to work for an engineering company until I was at University when I did a summer placement. If are interested in engineering, I would recommend getting work experience or even doing a days work shadowing, it really puts into context how you use maths and science in the real world.
