      Yes – when things decompose, they release gases into the environment. These gases can cause global warming in the long run.

      When you build on top of natural material, it can decompose leading to whatever you’d built failing!

      It completely depends on what is being degraded. If your car’s paint is being degraded, that’s quite bad!
