At the moment, Earth is the only habitable planet that can sustain and host life, with the conditions of the planet. It has water, the required gases/ elements, and temperatures for life to exist.
Scientists know that other planets do not have the same conditions as Earth, so assume life does not or cannot exist. However, science and technology is continuing to develop and we will always learn what has been discovered.
So far, scientists haven’t been able to detect any life on other planets. We do know that there are planets out there that are very similar to Earth and might be able to support life (although it might not be life as we know it on our planet!) – we’re yet to find out! Exciting stuff, in my opinion! 😁
Some scientists believe that there are 300 million planets just in our Milky Way that could have “earth like” life on them. These are places that resemble earth in important ways. It will be many hundreds if not thousands of years before we can check them all for life. So far we haven’t seen anything in space that might make us think other life was out there.
I think it’s very insular to assume earth is the only planet capable of sustaining life. Having aliens visit us? I suspect not, but having life forms on other planets is almost certain.
