I have been a cardiac physiologist for 14 years and would absolutely recommend it, and any job in science. There are so many options of things that you can do, there really is something for everyone.

I’d say I’ve been a scientist since I started my undergraduate degree at university (back in 2007!!). I did a summer placement in a lab, and after that decided that I was going to be a scientist. Since then I’ve done a PhD and then several different science jobs at universities and now in the NHS.

I have worked for 4 years. I would recommend being a Scientist or Engineer because you can specialise in different areas that you are most interested in, and different industries. I was able to try four different types Engineer roles, before I became a Project Engineer.

20 years, and I still love it! I do recommend it as a good job, but it has it’s downsides, as do all jobs. I work in the NHS which is a 24/7 service. I work weekends, late shifts, and have worked nights and on Christmas Day. It’s a great job to do, but it’s not for everyone.

I’ve been a scientist for 17 years – since I left school at 18 so it’s been almost half my life! I think it’s a good job. 🙂

I’ve been working in science in some form or other for about 9 years now! (😲)
Yes, I would recommend it, especially if you’re interested in finding out about how things work and get excited by asking questions about everything. No two days are ever the same!
