      PCR is the expotential amplication of a specific ‘bits’ of DNA therefore you can do loads of things with this ‘bit’ of DNA e.g. sequencing, genotype or NGS to identify if there is a mutation present – this can also be used by the police service if someone has left some DNA at a crime scene there the guilty person can be identified using DNA fingerprinting 🙂
