Unfortunately I’m not perfect and so quite a few of my experiments have gone wrong before. Sometimes my experiments go wrong because I make a mistake– such as adding a slightly wrong concentration of a chemical without realising. Other times my experiments go wrong even though I’ve followed my protocols down to the letter! On one occasion I was developing an ELISA (which is an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay– so when my target is present it’ll change colour from yellow to blue) and for some reason one row stayed yellow even though the rest turned blue! Considering it takes about 5 hours for a plate it was really annoying– especially as I still don’t know why that row didn’t work!!
