I am very disappointed not only about the trees in Amazon but aso for all the damage that certain people are causing to Earth. It is very important to understand the consequences of all actions against the environment and also other people. After all, earth is our home and our children’s home, we should respect this.

      Hi Ella,

I am indeed very disappointed about all the deforestation happening in the Amazon. It has a massive negative impact on the environment on several fronts and I don’t know whether people are really considering the long-term consequences!

When chopping down trees in the Amazon we are further enhancing climate change as we are increasing the levels of CO2 being released into the atmosphere. We’re also decreasing the biological diversity in the area– decreasing wildlife species, upsetting the food-webs. And who knows– we may also be getting rid of species that we hadn’t yet discovered (in 2013, 441 new species were discovered in the Amazon so surely there’s more to be found!)

Hopefully the more we learn about it the more considerate future generations will be about environmental impacts– before it is too late!

      Natt
