I always really enjoyed it at School. I didn’t expect to become a scientist though – this has just naturally happened. I had arts and crafts kits as a kid, not really science!

However, during my A level, I found aspects of Chemistry and Physics really interesting and I wanted to learn more. Now I find science so interesting, especially the materials side, and I think it’s amazing how we can have a material we make in the labs and then how we can then functionalize it in devices. This is true for Li-ion batteries and photovoltaics – I find it amazing!

When I was studying at school, I really liked what I learnt in Physics and Chemistry and those topics made me interested in studying those topics at the university.
