Regeneration is the process of replacing lost of damaged cells, tissues, organs, or even body parts with new ones. For example, when salamanders like the axolotl lose a limb, they can regenerate a new one – and it looks pretty much like the one they had! We are not as great as the axolotl at regenerating lost or damaged bits, but we can regenerate our liver even after losing a big chunk of it!
