I am quite adventurous and enjoy doing sports such as bungee jumping, climbing and abseiling.
For work though…
There are loads of hazards in crime scenes. There are biohazards for things like dead bodies; weapons or sharp objects; chemicals for drugs factories… and the usual trips, slips and falls.
Health and Safety is a big consideration and I always have to approach a scene and ask whether a risk assessment has been carried out, plus be aware and vigilant at all times.
I have had to attend a dead body on a mountainside once in the Winter. I can’t call it dangerous, because I was wearing the correct clothing and protective equipment… but I still had to be careful.
We were in a chinook helicopter going fast across the Iraqi desert and we dropped out of the air. That was more than a little scary. In Kosovo, we had snipers trained on us when we were working and had to rely on our protection to keep them at bay. In Sierra Leone we used armed helicopters to prevent the rebels kidnapping us while we worked.
