Forensic means pertaining to the law. There are many ways the subjects of biology, chemistry and physics (and also psychology archaeology, geography, etc etc) assist the Criminal Justice System. For example chemistry is important to help understand gun shot residue, fingermarks, fire investigation, drugs, toxicology, food source identity, person identity, and soil science and geology, to name but a few. Biology relates to DNA, anthropology, soil and botanical forensics and also wildlife crime… It’s important to have an understanding of the sciences.
