I find insects fascinating and still find myself amazed at how much they contribute to our world. They are food for many animals such as birds, fish and reptiles and even humans…ever had a bug burger or eaten a dried mealworm snack? They help us learn about our own genetics and bodies…did you know they take fruit flies up to space to understand the effect of zero gravity on our own bodies? They can help clean up our wounds by removing the dead tissue and bacteria and produce compounds to help them heal…a benefit discovered a long time ago but still used today. They break down organic waste such as animal poo and dead bodies which is good otherwise we’d be knee deep in the stuff! And they help us solve crimes by enabling us to work out a time since death, if that body has been moved after death, if the person had drugs in their body or if someone was neglected before they died. So no, I never find them disgusting. I find them amazing 🙂

Never, live them! Worked on a case recently where mite species held the key for time after death

Bugs are incredibly important and I don’t find them at all repulsive – very informative.
