      Yes, that is real! Donkeys and horses are closely related enough that they can have offspring, even if they are regarded as different species.

      If the mother is a horse and the father a donkey, the offspring is called a mule.

      If the father is a horse and the mother a donkey, the offspring is called a hinney.
