Question: when you were younger what was your dream job? has it changed since?

I really wanted to be a vet and I applied to study veterinary medicine at university but didn’t get in so I did a biochemisty degree instead with the plan to re-apply to veterinary medicine afterwards. However during my biochemisty degree I got to spend lots of time the lab including an 8 week summer placement and 12 week dissertation project and I realised that I really enjoy being the lab doing experiments and finding things out that no-one has discovered before. Because of this I decided to apply for a PhD and I am really enjoying my scientific career.
