Incandescent bulbs convert less than 5% of the energy they use into visible light, the rest goes into making heat. I found a picture of a light bulb viewed under a thermal camera and shows it gets pretty darn hot!
Tungsten filaments radiate mostly infrared radiation at temperatures where they remain solid so they have to be below 3,422 °C ( or 6,191 °F). For a typical incandescent light bulb, the Tungsten filament operates at approximately 2500 °C
