• Question: Is it worrying how much rubbish is in the ocean?

      Plastic pollution has so many bad consequences!

      Animals can get tangled or stuck in plastic litter and get damaged! Animals can also eat plastic, and this makes them really ill. Turtles can mistake plastic carrier bags as jelly fish 🙁 .

      Nasty chemicals can attach to plastic in the ocean. When animals like fish eat the plastic with the nasty chemicals attached to it, the nasty chemicals can get stored in their tissue! We eat many sea animals such as fish! This means there is a chance we are eating plastic and these nasty chemicals! YUCK!

      It is affecting other things such as tourism as well! Would you want to go to a beach that is full of rubbish!

      Plastic takes so long to break down too (+100 years), so it is creating the ocean into a plastic soup!!!

      We all need to work together to make the sea a safer, cleaner place!
