I prefer working on practical things!

I like to put on my lab coat and go into the lab. I also like it when my experiments are outside at the beach 😀

I often write up what I have done for the day though so I don’t forget 🙂

I enjoy a good mix of both. One thing that’s really important in science is to read about the experiments that people have done before and what results they got. It’s also important to write about your own research and publish it so other people can read it. That can involve a lot of time reading and writing, but then you are better informed on how to do your own experiments. I really do enjoy the practical aspect of my job though, I wouldn’t be good if I had to sit behind a desk all day!

Practical is usually far more fun but it can be nice sitting at my desk and chatting to people whilst making pretty graphs.

You can’t just do practical stuff you do sadly need some paperwork from time to time.

Probably a good balance of both although I do find practical work is easier compared to paper work. If I sit to write I have to tune my mind to be in the mood but once I’m in the mood I could write for hours. With practical work I can just get on with it any day/ time.

I like both, but I get bored if I have to sit at my desk for a long time 🙂 I’m very lucky that my job has a good mix of practical things and paperwork, and every day is different!
