• Question: What do you think of electric vehicle, are they clean, safe?

      I think are a good idea, the are a lot better for the earth’s environment. But they are quite expensive and cannot travel that far without being charged. If they made them a bit cheaper and so they could travel further I would definitely get one!

      I like the idea of electric vehicles, but if we are talking about making better choices for the environment then I have to wonder where the -electricity- is coming from. It’s all well and good switching from the fossil fuel of petrol, to electricity, if your electricity isn’t also coming from a fossil fuel – coal, oil or gas. If your electricity comes from a renewable source (hydro, solar, wind, tidal, wave or geothermal) or nuclear, then yes – electric cars are cleaner than traditional cars. But I think we have to make sure that we are helping our government make the right long term choices for our energy making sure it is affordable, good for the environment and safe.

      Until we fix that problem aren’t we just shifting our use of fossil fuels somewhere else?
