Not at the moment! People pay £30,000 to freeze their bodies and about half of that to just freeze their heads!! This is called cryogenics. They hope that in the future when technology has improved they will be able to be brought back to life.

Nope. But some animals do something called “cryoptobiosis,” which means that they enter a state of being very very slightly alive. When they’re in this state, they can withstand very high or low temperatures, lots of radiation, or even being exposed to the vacuum of space. “Sea monkeys,” which are a type of tiny shrimp, can do this–they can stay dried out for years, and when you put a drop of water on them, they spring back to life.

If a person’s brain stops working they cannot be brought back to life. But people can survive some very close to death situations thanks to medicine. If most of your brain is “off” you can be in a long sleep called a coma, and awaken after many months or even years! Check out this article about comas

If a persons heart stops working suddenly you can help to keep them alive by doing CPR, which is a way to move blood around a persons body when their heart is not working. See this video to learn how to do CPR with children

There is not any way to bring back a whole dead body at the moment, but it is possible, if medics are quick enough and the person has agreed beforehand, for parts of the body to be taken out and transplanted into people who need them.

This is called organ donation and is a great example of how science can save lives!
