When scientists are trying to prove an idea they will often use an experiment. This could be in a lab or on a computer. If the scientist keeps getting the same result and if other scientists get the same results by doing the experiment then that usually means the idea is either correct or incorrect! Experiments can be long or short – it depends on what you’re trying to do.
Ask your parents how many different behavioural strategies have they tried on you over the years and which of them worked best?
