• Question: Do you believe that we as humans will eventually be able to inhabit planets other than Earth?

      We can definitely do it if we want to. We are already changing the Earth’s climate, unfortunately in a bad way. But I think this means that we can change other planets in a good way to be more earth-like so that we can live on them.

      Be able to? Yes. Want to? I don’t know. In the 1960’s, we were enthusiastic about putting a man on the moon and what that would do for space travel. People walked on the moon twice in 1969, twice in 1971, and twice in 1972…and then we stopped. No one has stood on the moon since 1972. It’s not that we suddenly forgot how, it’s that a lot of people stopped believing it was important.

      So if we can live on Mars, will we really send people to explore the planet? Probably. But would we send people to live there instead of living on Earth? I doubt it, at least not any time soon.
