      It was an English scientist William Hyde Wollaston.who discovered Rhodium in about 1804. Apparently he found the metal in an ore (a rock that can be mined for minerals or elements) from South America and he called it Rhodium because the sample he found was rose coloured and “rhodon” is greek for rose.
