      It was two people!

Two chemists, William Ramsay (Scottish) and Morris Travers (English chemist) discovered zenon on the 12th of July 1898. The also discovered krypton and neon together – what a good team!

“Xenon” comes from the Greek word “xenos” which means stranger – pretty good name as xenon is a very strange looking element!
