      When a bee is buzzing it’s wings, it is creating little vibrations from the edge of its wings on the air. What you are hearing is the noise of the wings vibrating on the air because they are bendy and flapping about.

      There are also some bees that can vibrate deliberately to shake the pollen off the flowers and onto their bodies, which produces the buzzing noise too.
