Of course (but I’m baised)! Things are funnier when you can relate to them. I can’t say I relate very well to hanging out in a coffee shop in NYC.

Like Iain, I’m totally biaised. For me The Big Bang Theory was a brilliant geek-fest with interesting science facts cleaverly intertwined into the plot and characters who I can relate to (I used to play D&D with a bunch of guys who were a combination of Howard and Lenard) 🙂 So I’ve enjoyed watching it for far longer than Friends. I mean for how long can you stand Rachel and Ross splitting up and hooking up again, and again…and again 🙂

I’m going to have to disagree with both Iain and Anna. I’m a big fan of both The Big Bang Theory and Friends, but I wouldn’t say I prefer The Big Bang Theory simply because it’s science-themed. I just find it funny (although I do feel kinda proud when I understand one of the science jokes!) I’m a huge fan of programmes like Made In Chelsea and after a long day at work, something that is totally unrelated to science can be pretty appealing!

I agree with Hayley – although I do like science-themed comedies like The Big Bang Theory, I really enjoy completely different programmes, which are not to do with science, too (“How I met your mother” is one of my all time favourites…).
