I do hug the odd tree.
I occasionally lick rocks (but I am very careful). Licking a rock tells me too things – If it is salty, this tells me about the evolution of the rock, and if it is slightly ‘gritty’. Gives me an idea of the small grain size.
I tell geologists NOT to lick rocks. It’s like hunting mushrooms, unless you are sure of what you are doing you can make yourself very ill.

johnmidgley commented on :
In the UK, building bricks (inorganic – as in not grown) are made out of a mixture of clays (very very fine sediments) and aggregates (larger grain size material like sand) baked to various temperatures. Often other minerals and materials are added to give certain colours, or to emphasise certain properties like strength, water resistance and hardness.
Trees are organic, they grow. Trees are the very opposite of bricks.
