Question: Hi Amy, do you think your research could help with the treatment and understanding of eating disorders?

The thing that I’m most interested in is obesity and what makes us overeat – so I suppose you might be able to classify that as an eating disorder! The reason I’m interested in mood is that we know that obesity can be related to many different mood disorders – for example many drugs that have been trialled in the past which have reduced body weight generally cause serious changes in mood which means that they can’t be used! I’ve never thought about how my research could related to other eating disorders such as anorexia but I’m sure it could be relevant as I think there are many links between eating and mood!
