  It’s so cool that you wanted to do the same thing as me! I didn’t even know this was something you could do for a job before I started!
  I am researching drinking water, about how to produce it without using chemicals. Right now we add chemicals like chlorine (the same as in swimming pools but at a much lower dose) which have knock on effects for the environment. Chlorine only gets made in one place and then is transported around roads in big tankers. If there is a car accident, the tankers can explode, resulting in an impact on people and the environment. I’m researching ways of treating water without adding chemicals, for example by treating water with UV light instead that deactives the microorganisms in the same way people get sun burnt.
