• Question: Is it fun working with the some of the most powerful x-rays? And is it dangerous?

      Hi kiwi999,

      Thanks for your question! Yes it’s really fun working with these powerful X-rays, the equipment that’s needed to make them work is really AMAZING.

      These X-rays are 10,000 times more powerful than the X-rays that are used in hospitals, so they are really dangerous. If I got in the way of them them would make me sick straight away and I might end up losing my hair!

      To stop that from happening, the X-rays are kept in their own room which is surrounded by lead and concrete walls that the X-rays can’t get through. We can control everything from a computer, so we never have to get near the X-rays thankfully!
