The difference between seawater and normal water is salt. There is about 35 grams of salt in each litre of seawater, and this makes it behave differently to normal water.
You’ve probably noticed these salts from the taste of seawater, and how it stings if you get it in your eyes or on an open cut (ouch).
Other than this though, it also makes the seawater heavier than normal water, and it freezes at a lower temperature. The saltier the seawater, the heavier it gets, and the colder it has to be before it freezes. There are some salty lakes in Antarctica that wont freeze until -50 degrees Celsius… Pretty cool huh!
