      Hi!

There’s lots of different ways to split water but the general name is nice and simple, just ‘water splitting’.

To split water using electricity, which is what I’ve been talking about it’s called ‘electrolysis of water’.

Electrolysis is a fancy word which just means using electricity to do a chemical reaction. In this case, splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen gas.
