Great question! There’s no way of knowing exactly how many cells are in our bodies but a group of scientists have tried to calculate it! At the moment it stands at 37.2 trillion cells!!! They came up with this number by looking at the size of the different cell types that make up each organ and body tissue and by the weight of each organ. They say that we have around 50 billion fat cells and 2 billion heart muscle cells, that’s a lot of cells eh?! 🙂
