I haven’t studied animals’ vision as a job, but I am interested how chickens and dogs see. Mostly because I enjoy keeping chickens and dogs. Chickens have five types of photo-receptors while humans have three. This raises an interesting question about how chickens see colours, do they see more colours or are they better at telling similar colours apart?
Lots of people use mice to study human vision but I’ve not been involved in that, and I don’t think I would like to be either.
