      Hi there!
We all have stem cells in our bone marrow and blood which are used to repair our body tissues on a daily basis. We get the stem cells for our experiments from people in our lab who volunteer to donate a small amount of blood (about 30-40mL) and we can get cells from the blood samples and grow them in the lab. I’ve even donated my own blood a few times! What we would like to do is use the person’s own stem cells and grow them in the lab and then inject them into the eye as a treatment. This means that the cells would be safe and won’t be rejected by the body. Hope this helps to answer your question! 🙂
