• Question: Have you ever found the peridoic table confusing? i have :S

      Certainly have!
      In fact I was pretty bad at chemistry all together at school, I failed it at A-level, and then failed all my re-sits. lol. That should have been a sign to stop, I have no idea how I ended up doing a PhD with geochemistry in it :S

      All you really need to know is:

      -it catorgarised in different groups – non metals, metals, acids and alkalis.

      -the higher up the element is in the table – the more reactive it is – the lower down the element is in the periodic table – the least reactive it is

      -the Atomic Number – Simply refers to the number of protons present in the atom

      – the atomic Mass – The average mass of one atom of that element in amu’s (Atomic Mass Units). It is average because different isotopes of the same element have different masses.
