I use algebra all the time, because everything that I do is explained in terms of equations, and I have to be able to rearrange them to find the values that I need to use. The basic idea of algebra, to use one thing to represent the thing you don’t know right now, is pretty useful in lots of situations after school, but you probably won’t ever think of it as “doing algebra”.
Loads. When I look at the data about how quickly my reaction happens in chemistry I have to figure out lots of ‘unknowns’ by doing measurements. That’s all algebra is. To me, its use comes in teaching you how to approach problems.
