• Question: how old were you when you started being a scientist and how long ago did you start being one?

      That’s a really difficult question, because “Scientist” isn’t a job like “Lawyer” or “Doctor”, where you train to do it and then you start: often you start doing work as a scientist when you’re still training, like me. If you count from when I started doing new science where we didn’t know the answers until I’d done it, I was 21, so ten years ago.
