• Question: whats the furthest distance a satellite has travelled past the kuiper belt past the oort cloud

      Voyager 1. This is one of my favourite satellites. It let us see Jupiter and Saturn up close for the first time ever! This is where most of the pictures of these planets in books come from.

      The distance it has travelled is more than 18 million kilometres or 11 million miles. And only recently, in the last year travelled out of our solar system. It took 37 years travelling at 40,000 miles an hour to get just to the edge of our solar system. Space can be scarily massive….

      The best part of this satellite is that there is a Golden Disc on it. This disc is like a CD made out of gold and has on it sounds and pictures of humans and animals of Earth to let aliens know what Earth is like.
