There are two ways of being a scientist.

If you live and experience the world and learn things from it (like everyone does), you are already a scientist, in my view. Science is about making observations, then making theories about those observations and testing them, on a personal level. And this cycle of continuous learning continues through our lives as we grow. Every child is born a scientist.

The other kind of scientist is a formally trained and educated scientist who has gone to university to learn the best practises and use the best equipment and be surround by other people for good ideas. This is the professional scientist that publishes findings and helps to advance knowledge of the natural and social world. This scientist follows the scientific method for all of their work.

      Hussain has this one covered.
I think that to be a scientist you have to ask questions, especially WHY?
