• Question: what kind of things do you enjoy in science ?

      How much room have I got?! I enjoy many things in science but maybe the most enjoyable thing is that you’re always learning and discovering new things. Some of the experiments I am doing, nobody in the world has ever done before and maybe nobody has even thought about doing them! I am the first person to discover things, and that to me is very very cool. Imagine you were the first person to find something out – how amazing would that be?!

      Ross has covered the best part of science for me also. But if I had to add to it, I would say that I enjoy the honour of building on what has come before me. All of the time and effort that has gone in to knowing what we know about the brain and how cells work, I am using that to do my work and make new discoveries.

      As the old saying goes, I am “standing on the shoulders of giants”
