Great question, Maddison, and something I only found about the other day through a friend who is a bit hard of hearing.
Basically, a hearing aid is made up of three parts: a microphone to ‘listen’ to sound in the environment, an amplifier to make this sound louder and a speaker, which turns sound waves into electrical signals, which are then sent to the brain. So, they pretty much work just like our normal ears, except are much better at picking up sound!
