My work will help us understand how fatty acids are involved in certain illnesses: obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. By understanding how things work in the cell at a molecular level we can hopefully find ways to prevent these diseases. I hope that one day I will have enough evidence to show to the world ‘how’ and ‘why’ some fatty acids are so bad for us so that we can stop eating the bad ones and start eating more of the good ones!
