Because I love to explain science to people and this would give that opportunity. I’d use it for doing flash bang science demonstrations in schools., and also to invite school children into University to get an experience of what it’s like to do science in a University lab. It’s important that kids get to see how exciting science can be as there are a lot of them who grow up thinking science is boring.

To be honest, at school, there really are no boring subjects, but any subject can be made boring!!!

I think I deserve the money because I do really really really cool science which is super exciting; and I would use the money to fund trips for young people from local school to visit labs, and get hands on experience. I would like to allow young scientist to ask their own scientific questions, and design experiments to answer the things which make them curious! It is really valuable to be able to see what it’s really like to be a scientist, and I am keen to encourage young people to become enthused by STEM subjects
